Resection of an excessive skin and in some cases excessive fat pads improves their general appearance.

Adjacent "tear trough" deformity (prominent grove between lower lid and cheek) can also be corrected during the same surgery. Auxiliary procedures may be required in some patients to increase tension of orbicularis oculi muscle or entire lower eyelid.

Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is performed in local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia.

Surgical incision is placed 2 mm below eyelid margin so that resulting scars are  unperceptible.

Very fine skin stitches are removed on post-op day 7.
Return to normal activity is possible after 2 weeks.

Aesthetic improvement can be observed within 6-8 weeks from surgery.

Lower eyelid blepharoplasty rejuvenate operated areas by 10-15 years but doesn’t stop their natural aging processes.
