Resection of an excessive skin and in some cases excessive fat pads improves their general appearance.
Adjacent "tear trough" deformity (prominent grove between lower lid and cheek) can also be corrected during the same surgery. Auxiliary procedures may be required in some patients to increase tension of orbicularis oculi muscle or entire lower eyelid.

Surgical incision is placed 2 mm below eyelid margin so that resulting scars are unperceptible.
Very fine skin stitches are removed on post-op day 7.
