FACELIFT
Facelift is a most complex rejuvenation procedure of aging face.

It is frequently combined with neck lift, rejuvenation of upper or lower eyelids and fat grafting. Long-lasting effect is obtained by resection of skin excess, lifting of remaining one and suspension of subcutaneous and musculo-apponeurotic layer of the face (SMAS). The aim of the facelift is "physiologic" rejuvenation of the face by 10-15 years rather than excessive tension of the skin creating "mask face" appearance.
You should bring your pictures taken 10-15 years before for preoperative consultation to help Dr Pietrasik select best rejuvenation plan for your face.

Upon patient preference and general health condition, facelift is performed under general or local anesthesia with sedation.

Skin incisions typically located in hairy part of the scalp, pre- and retroauricular areas. Resulting scars became imperceptible after normal healing is complete.

Patients after general anesthesia remain in the facility overnight. Patients after local anesthesia with sedation can go home 3 hours after the surgery. Recovery period depends on extend of the facelift and accompanying procedures. Return to normal activity after standard face lift takes 2-3 weeks.

3-6 months are required for final aesthetic results to be obtained.

Although facelift rejuvenates patient's appearance by 10-15 years, it doesn't stop normal aging process of the face.

Some dermatologic and cosmetic therapies are recommended to sustain or refine aesthetic result of facelift.

This short information doesn’t replace medical consultation in the office.
