BREAST AUGMENTATION (FAT GRAFTING)
Breast augmentation aims at improvement of breast shape by its volume enhancement.

This goal may be accomplished by implant insertion or fat grafting. In selected cases Dr Pietrasik combines both methods to achieve better aesthetic result. Despite method employed the purpose of this operation is to create symmetric, aesthetically attractive and proportional breast.

Most frequent candidates for breast augmentation are females with small, asymmetric breast changed by feeding or significant weight loss.

During consultation Dr Pietrasik extensively discuss issues such us method and volume of augmentation, skin incisions, implant pocket  and possible complications. Appropriate measurements are also performed.

Breast augmentation requires general anesthesia.

Skin incision are placed in submammary creases or periareolar areas depending on patient preference and feasibility.

Patients after breast augmentation are usually discharged home 6 hours after the surgery.

Return to normal (non-strenuous) activity is possible after 7-10 days. Sport activities (jogging, fitness) can be resumed after 3 months.

Obtained result of breast augmentation with implant is permanent but may be influenced by weight changes and pregnancies. Longevity of the augmentation with fat grafting is still under investigation. It is know that 30-40% of transferred fat tissue will absorb thus hypercorrection or additional fat grafting may be required after 6 months from surgery. Breast feeding is still possible after augmentation.
