VAGINOPLASTY
Vaginoplasty is an operation performed in women seeking improvement in function of their vagina.

Women after physiologic delivery(-ies) are most frequent candidates for this type of surgery. Multiple childbirths although physiologic, loosen vaginal tissues, increasing its diameter, what it turn may deteriorate quality of sexual life. Also epistotomy scars produced during delivery(-ies) in perineal region may have this negative effect and are corrected during the same procedure.

Vaginoplasty is performed in general anesthesia.

Tightening of the vagina which is the main goal of the operation is performed in two layers: muscular and mucosal.

All incisions are closed with absorbable sutures thus there is no need for their removal.

Patient may go home 6-24h after the surgery.

Patient should refrain from sexual activities for 6 weeks.

Return to normal activity takes 7-10 days.

Although obtained results are long-lasting they are not permanent. The surgery doesn’t stop natural aging process of the operated structures. Vaginal deliveries may also change initially obtained good result.

This short information doesn’t replace medical consultation in the office.
